Well done folks - only a few thousand to go before we hit 1 million!!

Question for you Mucks - I've loaded boinc onto the SuSe PC, and its up and running. I've looked at the default profile for it under Device Manager at WCG and it gives a whole load of adjustable preferences with basic and advanced options - I have no idea what is best, can you assist me in any way?

And also how do you stop the desktop screensaver

See your other post about Screensaver ...

All I changed under "default profiles" was the 10gig HD thing, everything else is default setting ... I think.

Where do you see 'Advance' options ...

At WCG>My Grid>Device Manager>Device Profiles>Boinc Device Profiles>Default - there are a couple of basic options, and a whole load of confusing advanced options....

All I did was edited the Default ... and changed the HD to 10.0 ... that was all I have done.

In which case I shall do the same

My device name is showing as 'linux.site' is this normal, and can it be changed?

The Boinc program is crap ... we on Linux have nothing else unless we move to another project.

It took me 3 weeks to find out the basic controls ... turn it on / turn it off and now I can use the boincmgr too, not that I bother with that much ...

I have a temp / CPU monitor on the desktop ... it tells me that I'm running 100% @ 40c ... that is what I use to "see" if Boinc is still working.

Boinc = Install, configure, forget.
