I am going to be turning my old comp into a file server, and I was just
wondering if there was any free software out there that would allow me to share the old computer with the monitor on my main one? I mean, I would like to be able to view the old comp on my current monitor that is attached to the new computer. I am aware of such programs that I have to pay for. Any free ones? |

If your monitor had two inputs; i.e. one DVI and one analog. then hook one
to each and switch between them. If both PCs are running XP with SP2 then i think Remote Desktop is the easy
way to do it. Martin. "Bald Guy" <whatdidusay@my.hotmail.com> wrote in message news:9OJtf.30666$Lb1.4662@bignews3.bellsouth.net... > What about Windows Remote Desktop? But, once your "server" is working properly, you really won't need to look at it or do anything else fiddly with it. You certainly don't need to even log in on the computer because file and print sharing work fine with the system at the login prompt. -- John McGaw [Knoxville, TN, USA] http://johnmcgaw.com |

You need to logon on a regular schedule to check the event logs and to check the drive for faults - as a measure of maintenance. -- spam999free@rrohio.com remove 999 in order to email me |
