Hello,
What's the purpose of VMNetSrv.sys process ? Any ideas as to why would it be receiving connections directly from msn.com through a several NAT/firewalls sitting between me and the internet ? Steve |

According to a search I did on Google it could be Microsoft Virtual Server.
Do you have that installed on your computer?? If you feel you have unauthorized processes running on your computer you should do scans for malware and spyware ASAP and also in Safe Mode. It is very possible for such a process to make it through your firewalls if the traffic was started from your computer and then the firewall will allow it. More sophisticated firewalls can be configured to block outbound access to unauthorized ports and software firewalls can be used to manage access by application. It may help to use TCPView from SysInternals to see what ports are listening or connected on your computer and what executable/application owns that process. --- Steve http://www.microsoft.com/technet/pr...tr_folders.mspx http://www.sysinternals.com/Utilities/TcpView.html --- TCPView "anonymouse" <anon@microsoft.com> wrote in message news:%23qAFV%23TDGHA.740@TK2MSFTNGP12.phx.gbl... > Hello, > > What's the purpose of VMNetSrv.sys process ? > Any ideas as to why would it be receiving connections directly from > msn.com through a several NAT/firewalls sitting between me and the > internet ? > > Steve > |
