I am trying to replace an old hard drive with another hard drive that
already has XP installed. The old machine I got the hard drive from had onboard video. The new machine has a Gforce 2 and it was working fine with the old hard drive. When I try to boot with the new drive it starts loading Windows and then I can see a flash of a blue error screen and it just reboots again. This happens if I pick normal, last known good, or safe mode. I can take out the video card and the hard drive and plug it back into the old mobo I am trying to replace and they work. I suspect that XP is expecting the onboard video but shouldn't safe mode at least let me boot Windows? |
