Hi,
I have 2 DVDs installed and suddenly the DVD-ROM ceased to work. It doesn't matter what I use: CD, DVD it does not recognize the drive and it issues a message: Please insert a disk in drive F: I used the device manager to uninstall the drive and I installed it back, but all is the same. Thanks Doru |

Replace the drive, the laser has probably died.

Thanks for the reply. It's a bit over 1 year old, is Samsung that much
unreliable? I've had them die in less than that, particularly if they are used a lot.
They are more reliable than they used to be. Is it recognized correctly in Device Manager and in the BIOS as an optical drive? -- Cari (MS-MVP) Windows Technologies, Printing & Imaging http://www.coribright.com/windows "Doru Roman" <doruroman@rogers.com> wrote in message news:%23rDpnvlAGHA.3268@TK2MSFTNGP10.phx.gbl... > Thanks for the reply.
