Hi Thomas,
It is an intra-net web on our local network. I copied a cd on to our web so our engineers could have access to it. The procedure I followed was to create a folder in the web, next I copied and pasted the cd to the folder. I then created a hyperlink to the folder. It worked well in the browser view, but not after publishing. Should I have used another method of inserting the cd into the web? Ron |

Whenever you copy content from a CD, you need to remove the read-only attributes.
1. Copy the content of the CD to a folder, and remove the read-only attributes. 2. In FP you need to create a folder for the CD content. 3. Import the content of the CD content from the folder you created in #1 to the folder you created in #2 via FP's Import command or drag-n-drop. -- ============================================== Thomas A. Hi Thomas,
I did as you suggested. The problem still occurred. When I went back to the transferred folder I found the read only attribute to be checked again. Each time I remove it , apply, OK and close the folder. When I check the properties again, its back. Is there another way to remove the read only attributes, other than going into properties? Did you copy the content of the CD to a folder on your HD, then select ALL and then remove the

I copied the cd to my HD. Opened the folder selected all, clicked properties
and the read only box was empty. When I close out and reopen the folder properties the read only box is still checked. I must still be doing something wrong. "Thomas A. It is not actually a check mark it is kind of a square radio button, and it
is not grayed out. "Thomas A. Rowe" wrote: > Is the checkmark kind of grayed out ? > > -- > ============================================== > Thomas A. A folder will ALWAYS be marked as read only - users cannot change
this. If they could, the folders' internal structure could easily be corrupted by the curious. The contents of the folder should have every file marked as not read only. -- Ron Symonds - Microsoft MVP (FrontPage) Reply only to group - emails will be deleted unread.
