Deploying apps using SHDocVW.dll (.net 1.1)

If I use the ActiveX webbroswer control in my 1.1 application is it going to
work with any OS/IE version installed on users machines?
Or do the end-users have to have the same version of IE as I have when I
created my application. If they are required to have the same version of
IE(6) then will it still work ok across different OS's?

I have no intention of deploying the SHDocVW.dll itself with my application
(that is bad) just the Interop wrapper(s) created for it.
