I have an error message when clicking on explorer.

The application failed to initialize properly(0xc000005)hit ok to terminate. how do I get my internet back?

The first thing to try is a system re-boot.

Also can you let us know what version of windows and I.E. you are using.

The version is xp and its just internet explorer.

I tried rebooting, no good

Do you have XP Service Pack 2 installed?

(right click My Computer>Properties>General/System)

And if you can get into IE - click Help>About to get IE version info.

Just to make you aware, often these error codes can come from a number of different causes which are notoriously difficult to pin down.

It may be that you will have to use your windows disc and try a windows repair installation which retains your personal settings/files/programs etc.

If that fails then you are looking at a complete windows re-install
