They usually give me better fps (not by a big margin) but there is one problem with them that I'm having with each and every build ![]() Every time I use omega's drivers my computer starts up slower ,when I enter my windows account the start menu is unusable for a biger period of time and the hard drive is more active at startup ! Guess I'll just try the official Cats this time around (I'm curently at 5.11) ![]() -- Glitches are BAD!!! Beware... ICQ:275699535 |

Since then it boots normally not any quicker but pretty normal. My games seem to have a little nicer IQ and I picked up a few frames in OpenGL. D3D is the same as it's always been, great. No 60Hz bug for this guy. I run at 1024x768@85Hz and it runs sweet. Radeons suck at anything else. ![]() |

Yes,I know about the usual system tests that happen each time new cats are installed but this prob with Omega's happens everytime I boot my system (-- Glitches are BAD!!! Beware... ICQ:275699535 |

I'm running 5.12's, CP only version (CCC scares me). Runnning fine. I
picked up a smidge of performance in 3Dmark05. I don't actually notice it in games - no change at all, but more importantly, no problems. Running an X800 Pro. My x1800xt arrives tomorrow, along with my 4000+ San Diego processor, MB, etc. :-) "Batman or Superman" <batmanorsuperman@thebatcaveorfortressofsolitude.net> wrote in message news:ZuudnXd0mZWVWAHenZ2dnUVZ_tidnZ2d@rogers.com... > Glitch wrote: >> Batman or Superman wrote: >> >>> I'm not a big fan of Omegas, I would sooner stick with the official >>> drivers. >> >> >> They usually give me better fps (not by a big margin) but there is one >> problem with them that I'm having with each and every build ![]() >> Every time I use omega's drivers my computer starts up slower ,when I >> enter my windows account the start menu is unusable for a biger period of >> time and the hard drive is more active at startup ! >> Guess I'll just try the official Cats this time around (I'm curently at >> 5.11) ![]() >> >> > I'm using the official CCC 5.12's and when it first loaded after the > reboot it took about 5 minutes for my system to settle down but after that > no problems. Hope it works okay and gives you something to play with over Christmas. -- Cheers, Guy ** Stress - the condition brought about by having to ** resist the temptation to beat the living daylights ** out of someone who richly deserves it. |
