Hi everyone,
I have a Saphire Radeon 9800 Pro 128 Meg. card. Card seems fine and stable in general. I use my machine, which is an AMD 1.8, 1024 Meg RAM and the fore mentione video card for flight simming, mainly FS2004. Two nights ago during a flight, during quite a heavy period of graphic use, ie flying in a major thunderstorm, with lightning etc, the display suddenly change to transparent, verticle magenta and at times, green lines or bars running vertically on the screen with about 1" spaces between them. Rebooting the machine fixes it but they randomly come back. The desk top can look fine but if I open up a window, this can be corrupted for a period and may sort itself out so to speak. I am running the 5.12 drivers from the ATI site and have the Windows.Net or whatever it is called installed. Windows media player will also play .WMV in say three or four colours, or so it seems, but MPEGs play fine. Running DXDIAG shows the spinning cube spinning so rapidly that it looks a jumbled mess, but as the test finishes the cube is visable crystal clear. This has only happened recently and I have only played one game in the time that it has been a problem, FS2004. I have been using the card with FS2004 for months with no problems until now. The only new program installed just prior to the problem appearing is "FarCry" Any ideas? Scet |
