I occassionally work on older computers that can't boot from BIOS. How can I
create a single floppy to boot the computer so that I can run or load XP. If I can at least foot it up to use the CD-ROM without waiting for 6 disks and errors that make you start all over. Even if I have to take the ISO images for the 6 flppys and place them on a CD so that I can at least boot from a single floppy and then load the setup off the CD-ROM. If anyone can guide me to where I can get this information that it is easy to set up and doesn't require all types of programs to do it. Thanks in advance. |

You should be able to make a Windows ME boot disk that will have support for
CD-ROM drivers. Boot of that and then run setup.exe (or whatever it's called - I don't remember) off the XP installation CD. From an XP computer (not sure if this is availabe in 2000 either) - Insert a blank floppy - Open My Computer - Right-click on 3˝ Floppy (A ![]() - Select Format - Select "Create an MS-DOS startup disk" - Click Start button - Click OK Regards, Martin MCSA: M "Rick" <Rick@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:52A8FF9E-5B44-43FA-AC96-1DD36108661F@microsoft.com... >I occassionally work on older computers that can't boot from BIOS.
