Default OpenOffice 1.0 Released
OpenOffice, the free, open-source alternative to Microsoft Office was officially released on Wednesday. Both Windows and Linux binaries are available for download from the OpenOffice site.

This open-source version (meaning that the code used to make the software is freely available) of Sun's StarOffice is definetly a great alternative to Microsoft Office.
