unable to install hardware

Default unable to install hardware


when I try installing any hardware (printer, camera etc) a windows message
states that a device is already being installed. doesn't say what device or
give a choice of stopping the installation. any suggestions?

Well,
Did you try to check "Device Manager"?
I mean add/remove device option, you can do it manually!
Scan all your devices so you could find the needed one and check if i
really shows

This is a known issue... look on http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com
or orther help sites how to purge the stuck installation active condition.

Pavel - I'm relieved that this is an issue with known solutions. I couldn't
find the solution on kellys-korner - Could you please be more explicit on

There is some registry value stuck when previous setup does not
clear up, or something like this. Please try again. This is a known issue.
