Default Upgrading from MM2.0 to MM2.1

Hello,

I have Windows XP Home SP2 installed and MM2.0. How can I install MM2.1
over MM2.0?

I did find MM2.1 in C:\WINDOWS\ServicePackFiles\i386 after I installed XP
SP2, but it's not in C:\Program Files\Movie Maker. MM2.0 is there instead.

What am I doing wrong?

Thank you,
Randy Stegbauer

copy the files from the i386 folder to the working folder... over the
version 2.0 files... if you want to cross-check the files, see the Setup >
MM2.0 and MM2.1 pages of my site...

Default RE: Upgrading from MM2.0 to MM2.1

Randy-

I had similar problem with this, however if you simply re-install SP2 over
the initial install, it will put MM 2.1 onto the machine ( over writing the
MM 2.0 application ). I formatted my machine and after re-install of XP Pro,
I immediately installed SP2 before updating at Windows Update. I then
realized that the MM 2.0 was offered as an update BEFORE SP2 was released but
SP 2 would not install MM 2.1 without the initial MM 2.0 application. Make
sense? Hope so..Irish
