Default Playback preview shuts down after a few seconds.

Hi, I hope someone can help me with this.
The playback preview in mm has started shuting itself down about midway
through. I get the error report send or don't send box and then it shuts mm
down completely. I don't know what I've done wrong to cause it to start doing
this. It's so frustrating. Help please if you know. Also, I've done every
clean up and defrag I could think of as well as deleteing many clips.

Your help would be greatly apreciated.

Hi Kizzie....others can probably explain better. But I think your video
clip may be an mpeg and MM has a tough time with that format.... I have a
program called AVS Converter that cost $30 (you can google for it or get it
at download.com)...and I use that program to 'convert' mpegs to another
format...most often xvid (AVI), and then import that into Movie Maker.
There are other programs, but I like AVS Converter for all of the other
things it can do also; such as split video, burn dvd, rip audio, and all
kinds of things. You can save your Movie Maker video to either WMV or to
DV-AVI when complete....if you are going to burn a dvd then save your video
as a DV-AVI format. Good luck.

check the Problem Solving > Crashes and Hangs page of my site... you might
have installed one of the codecs that conflicts with Movie Maker...
