Recently, whenever I try and import an audio or video file I get error
message :

FILE CANNOT BE IMPORTANT. CLASS NOT REGISTERED.

How do I fix this?

This happens when some DLLs get un-registered due to uninstallation of some
other programs. Can you do some experiments and find out which type of files
you are getting problems with:

1. Can you import WMV and WMA files? can you play these on Windows Media
Player?
2. Can you import DV AVI files? can you play these on Windows Media Player?

To fix the first, install/re-install Windows Media Encoder.
To fix second execute the following line on Start -> Run dialog:

regsvr32 qdv.dll

Try exporting/playing the files afterwards. Please write back to give update
and for further options.
