Default mpeg importing error message

I am trying to import an mpeg file and keep getting the following meaningless
statement:

"mpg could not be imported. An interface has too many methods to fire events
from"

What does it mean? And why would anyone write such a cryptic, ungrammatical
statement?

Default Re: mpeg importing error message

it means you need to convert the file to an AVI before importing... see the
Importing Source Files > Video > MPEG-2 page of my site.

that's better than a message you can understand but is wrong...
