During capture from camcorder, the capture stops at 2 minutes of recording.
I've tried the S-Video and A/V; both do the same thing. Any input regarding this problem? Thx - Mike |

WMM2 can be configured to capture video up to a given time limit (the screen
where you start the capture) - any chance this is what is giving you your 2 minute problems? Thinking sideways here... a long shot nonetheless. Or some basic hardware issue... Well, I set it to 8 hrs this time and it went 2min20secs before stopping.
It's not actually "stopping" but "freezing up" the video capture while the program still runs. It might be a h/w issue. What's the camcorder brand and model, and what capture device are you using?

Camcorder is Sony DCR-TRV130 NTCS, capture device is Hauppauge WinTV PVR PCI
II (26xxx); as far as I can tell. --- Mike "PapaJohn (MVP)" wrote: > What's the camcorder brand and model, and what capture device are you using? > -- > PapaJohn > > Movie Maker 2 and Photo Story 3 website - http://www.papajohn.org > MM2 Tips and Tricks: http://www.simplydv.co.uk/simplyBB/viewtopic.php?t=4693 > Online Newsletters: http://www.windowsmoviemakers.net/PapaJohn/Index.aspx > > > "caddsgn" <caddsgn@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message > news:5B5638FD-5E1F-46B0-B1CD-C8CB3FD66C4E@microsoft.com... > > Well, I set it to 8 hrs this time and it went 2min20secs before stopping. > > It's not actually "stopping" but "freezing up" the video capture while the > > program still runs. Ok, you have a Hauppauge TV capture device (so do I) - but that is probably
not relevant. And a Sony Camcorder - so how do you connect the Camcorder to the PC? USB (1.1 or 2.0)? Firewire? Or? A free Everest report might help us all understand more... download it get the report and post it back here. http://www.lavalys.com/products/ove...p?pid=1&lang=en Meanwhile - good luck! Thinking again - you are probably trying to hook up the camcorder to some
socket on the Hauppauge (eg S-Video) Hold on /// You meant DCR-TRV130 NTSC - not NTCS Look here http://www.sonydigital-link.com/DIM.../D8/D8.asp?l=en Maybe you should be using the USB or Firewire capability? I agree with Max... you should be capturing from a digital8 camcorder using
a firewire connection... the Sony manual calls it iLink. -- PapaJohn Movie Maker 2 and Photo Story 3 website - http://www.papajohn.org MM2 Tips and Tricks: http://www.simplydv.co.uk/simplyBB/viewtopic.php?t=4693 Online Newsletters: http://www.windowsmoviemakers.net/PapaJohn/Index.aspx "caddsgn" <caddsgn@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:44D06B22-5680-4DC9-A283-341CC7A9F517@microsoft.com... > Camcorder is Sony DCR-TRV130 NTCS, capture device is Hauppauge WinTV PVR > PCI > II (26xxx); as far as I can tell. > --- > Mike > > > "PapaJohn (MVP)" wrote: > >> What's the camcorder brand and model, and what capture device are you >> using? >> -- >> PapaJohn >> >> Movie Maker 2 and Photo Story 3 website - http://www.papajohn.org >> MM2 Tips and Tricks: >> http://www.simplydv.co.uk/simplyBB/viewtopic.php?t=4693 >> Online Newsletters: http://www.windowsmoviemakers.net/PapaJohn/Index.aspx >> >> >> "caddsgn" <caddsgn@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message >> news:5B5638FD-5E1F-46B0-B1CD-C8CB3FD66C4E@microsoft.com... >> > Well, I set it to 8 hrs this time and it went 2min20secs before >> > stopping. >> > It's not actually "stopping" but "freezing up" the video capture while >> > the >> > program still runs.
