Default Write DVD in MM

Hi, I'm looking to get a better quality movie on DVD. I'm confused about the
"write DVD" function in MM 2. If I capture video in dv-avi, edit it and move
to a timeline, then use "write DVD", it gives me the option to save as dv-avi
on my computer, but what does it do on the DVD? Does it compress it or save
as dv-avi? Do I have to save it to my computer as dv-avi and use different
software to get it as dv-avi on the DVD? Thank you sooooo much!

Default Re: Write DVD in MM

Movie Maker doesn't write to DVDs... the feature on MCE2005 systems is one
where the Movie Maker saving wizard does the first part of the process, but
then tosses it over to the DVD software for the creation of the disc... on
my laptop it's the Sonic DVD wizard and engine. The settings for the disc
are determined by Sonic.
