ACV needs characters and he's one of them. I don't agree with everything he says but that gives me the opportunity to trawl the archives and piece his bests bits together. No I'm not planning on doing a Barlev or Bryant on the guy as they are in a different classification of ACVer (idiot). Art and some of the other regulars come into a new classification (not worked it out yet). Helpful to some, yet very fixed ideas and opinions on certain subjects. > but being from the usa he talks funny, He does! I see Art like the Sheriff in "The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance" (Andy Devine) or Sheriff in "Tom Horn" (Slim Pickins). That's Art *wink* > Art for president? Can you see Andy Devine or Slim Pickens or for President? *grin* > sam 4Q (The Devil's Cyber Advocate) B.Sc (Hons), PhD B-Phil |

>> Art for president? > >Can you see Andy Devine or Slim Pickens or for President? *grin* That's as improbable as G. W. Bush for president. Strange things happen in democracies. Sam ought to rethink his nomination on different grounds entirely. For one thing, my background is engineering ... and I've always liked this little "engineers joke": A physician, lawyer and engineer were all sentenced to be hanged on the same day. The physician was first but the release mechanism failed. It was the law of the land that when such happens, it is obviously a act of God, and the prisoner is released. Next, the same thing happened with the lawyer. Even though nobody could believe God would ever save a lawyer, they figured God works in mysterious ways and they set him free as well. When the engineer got on the stand and they placed the noose around his neck, he began staring studiously at the release mechanism. Suddendly he blurted, "Hey wait a minute. I see how to fix this thing!" Now, Sam, are you sure you want somebody that dumb as president? OTOH, it would be a vast improvement over nominating a computer science major who believes in artificial life (that cracks me up )and terrorising old ladies with viruses. That's the epidomy of dumbmess ![]() Art http://home.epix.net/~artnpeg |

Who laughed at the 2004 presidental debates when Bush needed the undercover prompting device to keep up with Kerry? > Sam ought to rethink his nomination on different grounds entirely. Since then many A-L conference have been held and the proceedings have been published (still in print, expensive though). Anyone interested in the subject from the Dummies Guide all the way up to grade A1 peer reviewed papers can find the info by Google/Yahoo/MSN/ASK/Lycos etc... try http://www.alife.org > and terrorising old ladies with viruses. I don't believe in terrorising old ladies, I believe old ladies will be terrorised by fear mongers like you though. >That's the epidomy of dumbmess ![]() At least I am actively researching this subject from a philosophical and technical perspective and not reading all the media hype thinking the skies falling down. I believe VX will never be stopped and A-Life is just around the corner. We are on a hyper-exponential technology curve at the moment and AI/AL will be here whether you like it or not. (sorry to all the grannies shaking in their rocking chairs out there!). There really is nothing to fear, just embrace the change as and when it comes. Anyone who want to be more informed about all the VX hysteria pay a visit to my good mate Rob Rosenberger. http://vmyths.com (very interesting read) Okay I'm shilling for Rob (unpaid), but he's worth it. > > Art 4Q (The Devil's Cyber Advocate) B.Sc (Hons), PhD B-Phil |

I've explained to you before why I think it's a joke. I've been at the philosophy and science game way before you were in diapers. >> and terrorising old ladies with viruses. > >I don't believe in terrorising old ladies, I believe old ladies >will be terrorised by fear mongers like you though. Bullshit. Show me where I've ever done any fear mongering. It's vxers who are the fear mongers. Art http://home.epix.net/~artnpeg |
