photo gallery edit locks up

When I bring up a photo in the gallery to edit FrontPage locks up after
pressing OK whethter or not a change was made. Any ideas why?

Yup, don't use that component! This article might help:

Think about testing out JAlbum. Many of us like it very much and it's FREE.

What's the remedy? I called support last year and was on the phone for over
three hours with the guy. He still couldn't figure it out. It's very
frustrating when you spend the time loading and adding cation to only find
out the program literally locks up.

They never really cared ... and it's been more than 2 years. But ... the
other possibilities are so much better. Who wants their larger version in
the top left of an otherwise blank area?
