Default Remote Desktop, autoplay, ripping CD's...

I want to set up a music server at my shop. I don't want to have to
connect a monitor, keyboard, or mouse due to space and cost
considerations. So, my plan was to use the auto rip feature of Media
Player to rip the 600 or so CD's I have into the system, controlling
it with Remote Desktop. Well, it seems this feature, or autoplay for
that matter, does not work when connected via RD. Now, I can configure
the machine to boot up an automatically log in if it does go down, then
just insert disks and it will rip them. The problem with this is if I
then connect to the machine with RD, it logs me out to the local
session and I lose the ripping functionality unless I reboot.

Another option is to use UltraVNC, but that really isn't as nice as
RD. Anybody know of a way I could accomplish this?

Why do you need autoplay?

I was using that more as an example. I need to be able to insert a CD
and have it automatically rip. It will locally, it won't via RD.
