Problems with Xp SP2 FP20003 WebDAV and Apache 2.054

am having what appear to be authentication errors when communicating with
my FrontPage 2003 on Win XP SP2 with my WebDAV server on Apache/2.0.54
(Unix) DAV (not sure which version, but the include says version for Apach
2.0.*)

I keep getting "You do not have permission to do this operation ..... To
login with a different account click OK"


This message repeats and repeats as it appears to walk through the files on
the web site. It also appears that it IS working a portion of the time, or
intermittently.


This just seemed to start happening, as I have used the system for some time
and things were working find. I DO use autoupdate and am wondering if a
recent patch might have changed things.


There is no authentication problem, as when I do enter an incorrect
password, I do see an error in the Apache logs indicating so.


Any thoughts are appreciated.
