Default interactive buttons slow to "wake-up" when scrolling thru

Hi there,

When I scroll thru a bunch of interactive buttons (contained within a layer)
it takes about 1/2 a second for the next button to change colour etc, rather
than intsantaineously, which would be the ideal situation (and is the case in
99.9% of html's on web etc). Can this time be reduced?

Also, another minor glitch: the layer described above (lets call it 1B)
wont become re-hidden unless the mouse is passed over it first. Therefore, if
the user scrolls down the list of headings and chooses not to pass their
mouse over 1B, it stays visible. The strange thing is that this problem goes
away once the mouse has been passed over and out of 1B

Cheers,
Mark

Are there images involved in these menus? If so, are you pre-loading them?
If you are, are you still waiting for them to download?
