Default Visioneer One Touch 5600

My cousin gave me this scanner - a few years old, but never out of the
box. Used installation cd, but my computer thinks it's not plugged in.
Went to website - manual says to slide Locking tab to unlocked position.
I can't find a locking tab! Phone # for Visioneer not working. HELP!
...... lulu

Live well, laugh often, love much.

Check page 7 in the User Guide for connection problems."Step 3: Checking out
your scanner"
User Guide and software downloads and FAQs for Visioneer One Touch 5600
scanner.
The line in manuals with no language is English.

it's underneath the scanner. lift up the scanner and look at the
bottom, there should be a slid with an illustration of a closed lock
(locked) and open lock (unlocked).

hope it helps,

Danny

Danny,

Why do you always have multiple posts in here?

Posts do not show immediately in the News Groups, wait a few minutes (not
seconds) before sending again.

Only send once.

It takes time for these posts to travel to all the servers in the world.

Many thanks to you who responded. Still can't find a lock slide, but
that doesn't seem to be a problem anyway. When I used the
troubleshooting page, Windows told me that "this software has not passed
Windows Logo testing to verify its compatability with XP. ....... The
driver cannot be installed because it is not digitally signed or not
signed in the appropriate place". HUH? What does that mean?

It means that the manufacturer did not pay Microsoft the fee to digitally
sign the software.

Click "Continue anyway" everything will work as it is supposed to.

If you read the installation instructions that is often on the web site
where you download the software, there are instructions to do exactly that.

sorry about that carl~ I'm kinda new to this

btw- you're absolutly correct about the logo testing message... because
the scanner is usb, if you don't click "continue anyway" when that
message appears, the scanner won't work.

None of them will work if you don't "continue anyway" that stops the
hardware installation in it's tracks. That message is just Microsoft's crap.
