Print header or footer instead of banner page?

Does anyone know if it's possible to print the username to a document
header (or footer) instead of wasting paper on a complete banner page
for each print job?

(In may case, I am running Windows XP Sp2, printer is a HP LaserJet
4050 T.)

Any input or ideas welcome!
