The printer cartridge light is blinking on my HP 882C. Right before
this happened the printer drew in several pages at once, but managed to spit them all out without my intervention. No other problems. I replaced the black cartridge, even though the little window showed it completely full (all green). I rarely print in color and have not done so in a while. So, I am hestitant to just replace the color cartridge, when I might actually need to purchase a new printer. The carrige moves back and forth normally when the lid is opened, but it simple won't print. I have been printing to this printer dirctly from Win2k and from samba. Any ideas? Thanks in advance. |

Have you tried printing a test page from it? Or using a decent art program make 4 rectangles, one each of black, cyan, magneta, and yellow and print those? If so and the color are off or missing, you probably need to replace the color. Color cart do dry out if not used for so long and the printer might be sensing a problem with the color cart as a result. If you don't plan to print color anytime soon, you should be able to ignore the blinking light for now. My 940c do blink when the cart gets low but usually that can be ignored safely if the cart was refilled. -- When you hear the toilet flush, and hear the words "uh oh", it's already too late. - by anonymous Mother in Austin, TX To reply, replace digi.mon with phreaker.net |
