Default HP CP 1700

Hello just got a second hane HP CP1700 and already hate it. i turn it on
(All new carts and printheads) and i get load letter paper!! I live in
britain!! we dont have letter paper! we have A4 i pressed cancel and then it
wanted A4 (I had loaded A4) the printer kept chucking paper out then i get
the load A4 Message! Windows cant print a test page as the printer says load
A4 (Loaded) it does not jam (The paper goes though (But when it gets
confused it sometimes jams)

Please help ask my a question in response!

So ? I assume you told windows to use A4 when you were printing ?

Yup. Many of us do, but we don't always hold our printers responsible !

Indeed. But this 'problem' is generic to all printers more or less.

Yes. It chucks paper though when it's the wrong size. As I recall, the
manual, if you've read it, freely admits this. I see this all the time
if I try printing A3 on A4 etc.

On the whole I've not seen our CP1700 jam much except when I've printed
on very crinkly 'second use paper' or thick media like envelopes.

I'll have a go as answering. Asking is for you.

Now, blaming your tools aside, in

Start->
Settings->
Printers->
HpCp1700->
Printer->
Properties->
DeviceSettings

did you set whichever tray you are using to A4 ?

And when you tried to print from whatever applications you've tried, did
you set the paper size to A4 ?

Cheers, J/.
