Default Kyocera FS-1020D USB port, Windows 98 SE

I have had trouble getting the Remote Operation Panel to work because
it does not list the virtual USB port driver USB001 I am using as an
option for connecting to the printer.

It lists COM1, COM2 and LPT1. It also does list a port called
KMUSB001, but this port does not work when I try and print from it, it
just comes up with an error. The port labelled USB001 prints fine but
the Remote Operation Panel does not list it as an option.

My driver is the latest KX driver from the website as is the KMROP
utility. For some reason the printer did not come with any CDs, and I
have sent an email and am waiting for my supplier to rectify this.

As the Remote Operation Panel does not work, I can't try out features
such as duplex printing. In all other respects the printer works fine.
I have tried un-installing and re-installing the drivers, using
Kyocera's 'delete printer' utility to purge the registry, dlls etc. to
do a clean install. Please, any ideas would be appreciated on how to
make ROP see my USB001 port or make the KMUSB001 port actually print.
