Default Amonia based cleaner in UK

Hi all

Anyone know the brand name of an Ammonia based cleaner in the UK, Windolene
(Not the pink one) contains no ammonia.

Thanks

Paul

Cloudy ammonia is generally available in supermarkets - solution of soap in
weak ammonia. Old fashioned and ineffective as a cleaner compared with
modern solvent-type cleaners.

The latest one in Tesco's -a clear liquid Windolene contains ammonia - just
smell it. I'm using it now and it sure contains ammonia. Mr Muscle and
several other spray kitchen cleaners are also a mild ammonia solution. They
don't name the contaents on the pack however ?You can also obtain household
ammonia and dilute that.

Thanks for the info

Just returned from my local tesco's, they had clear Windowlene original
(Clear) and Mr Muscle (Green) and both defiantly did not smell of ammonia.
They must have regional mixes and our one's do not contain ammonia.

I did manage to get a bottle of ammonia so I shall be mixing my own.

From www.windexglasscleaner.com/

----------
Q: What ingredients are in Windex® Glass and Multi-Surface Cleaners?
A: Windex® Glass and Multi-Surface Cleaners contain detergents,
solvents, fragrance, Ammonia-D®, and alcohol. They should not be used if
ammonia is not recommended for use on surface. (Windex® Multi-Surface
Cleaner with Vinegar, Windex® Outdoor Window & Surface Cleaner, and
Windex® Multi-Surface Sparkling Orange™ Cleaner do not contain ammonia
or dyes. They are safe to use in these cases.)

They cleverly use the trade name "Ammonia-D", which someone wrote was
probably a compound name which when dissolved in water generated free
ammonia.

But, that was from a newsgroup discussin, and they are slightly less
trustworthy than real information.
