Default Help P4t-e Intrusion error????

Intsallling a p4 2.53 ghz in P4t-e motherboard and I'm getthing a hang in
the Bios saying : Message Confirmation-- The system intruded or chassis
tempered with. Check the system?????

I am frozen for awhile in the bios, and only after 3 or 4 restarts I am able
to get into the bios menu to fiddle with settings but it keeps coming back
to this intrusion error.

Is there something in the bios I should turn off or disable ???? I've tried
default setting and I can't escape that error. Thanks. AJ

Well if you install a 533 MHz chip that would be your first problem. The
board was only designed for 400 MHz chip.

If you look at the picture of the motherboard in the manual (the picture
that identifies all the components and jumpers on the board), there is
a header in the lower right hand corner of the board called "chassis".

In typical Asus style, the header is not documented in that manual. I
looked in the manual for a P4B (my surf machine), and this is what
it shows -

x +5VSB
(no pin)
x chassis_signal
x GND

You are supposed to place a jumper on the two adjacent pins. So, as
long as the chassis_signal is connected to GND, there should be no
complaints from the BIOS. As long as the chassis_signal floats or gets
connected to +5VSB, the BIOS will think your case cover has been opened.

HTH,
Paul

Thanks Paul! I'm back in business running with a 100 FSB--- underclocking a
bit but it moves fast.. I knew this chip would work even with a 533 bus.
