Western Digital says this drive isn't for windows 98:
http://www.wdc.com/en/products/curr.../wd800jdrtl.asp Should I try to put it in anyway since my mobo supports 2 sata devices? Newegg screwed up and sent the wrong drive. -- www.newromesucks.com www.hamsterforpresident.com |

Your motherboard may have two SATA ports, but I'd imagine that it doesn't
have Win 98 SATA drivers... -- DaveW "Machine Messiah" <Dustyguyz@waifisktiddlewk.com> wrote in message news:MPG.1b12fc4378ca8cdf989bd3@news-server.columbus.rr.com... > Western Digital says this drive isn't for windows 98: > http://www.wdc.com/en/products/curr.../wd800jdrtl.asp > Should I try to put it in anyway since my mobo supports 2 sata devices? > Newegg screwed up and sent the wrong drive. > -- > www.newromesucks.com > www.hamsterforpresident.com |

Newegg screwed up and sent the wrong drive. Your motherboard CD should have SATA drivers. Look for them. Also, read any "Readme". |

The probably are just dropping support for win98. If your Mobo has win98 drivers for sata, it should work. -- Stacey |
