Default Western Digital SATA WD800JD and Windows 98?

Western Digital says this drive isn't for windows 98:
http://www.wdc.com/en/products/curr.../wd800jdrtl.asp
Should I try to put it in anyway since my mobo supports 2 sata devices?
Newegg screwed up and sent the wrong drive.

Your motherboard may have two SATA ports, but I'd imagine that it doesn't
have Win 98 SATA drivers...

Your motherboard CD should have SATA drivers. Look for them. Also, read any
"Readme".

The probably are just dropping support for win98. If your Mobo has win98
drivers for sata, it should work.

Sure. I think the drive will work fine with Linux, also...and with
DOS.

Probably ME, too.

I was thinking of trying Mandrake Linux on this machine someday.
DOS makes me crazy.
