Default Drive Configuration

Hi

I have a small problem on boot up, 8 times out 10 it hangs on the post
screen for approx 45 seconds at the 4th line,
Auto Detecting Secondry Slave... Press <F4> To Abort
although nothing happens if I press F4, the other 2 times it goes straight
through, beeps and boots.
I think the problem is with the jumpers, if I take out my CD-RW and boot
with just Hard drive in IDE 1 and CD-Rom in IDE2 it boots no problem every
time, my set up at present is
Maxtor Diamond max Hard Drive as master on IDE 1, jumper set to master
CD-Rom as master on IDE 2, jumper set to master
CD-RW as slave on IDE 2, jumper set to slave
The bios says as above and all drives work
Can anyone advise me as to best drive configuration and what the jumpers on
each drive should be set at.

Dave

Have you tried these ? --
1. Change the cable on IDE2
2. Set the jumpers to cable-select
3. Substitute the CD drives, esp. the CD-RW, with a known good one
from another computer
4. Install the CD-RW in another computer
