Default Looking for a quiet mouse.. Any recommendations?

Hi,

Just as the subject implies. I am looking for a quiet mouse. USB and
optical if possible. My wife just let it be known that my late night
Diablo2 runs are driving her up the wall. It just needs to be less
"clicky". I am currently using a MS Optical (one of the first ones
out). Any suggestions would be appreciated.

How about forget the game and go to bed with your wife, your marriage might
last longer.

You aren't married, are you?

That all stops once the vows are exchanged!

Huh? Are you serious? Have you played Diablo2? ;-) Especially with the
Gemstone mod.

Sorry rubicant, I only use one type of mouse on all my PCs, MS optical as I
get them quite cheaply and they suit me. I have one of the earlier ones and
I've just compared the noise with one of the newer ones (basic model) and
the newer ones seem to be ever so slightly quieter, not much in it though.
Maybe just a different sound. Are you playing in the same room your wife is
sleeping in? If not then she must have damn good ears or she's using it as
an excuse to get you to bed and have her way with you. Women! All they ever
think about is sex.

At least someone has some good input. It's not the sex. I'm the
horndog. She just has good ears and she wants me to leave the door to
the bedroom open for "air circulation" or something. I dunno. Anyway,
I'll go by CompUSA soon and check some out. I just recall hearing
something about a quiet mouse somewhere (kinda like the soft-touch
keyboards).

And to the arse that first replied, I have been married for some time.
We each have our vices. I have my PC(s), she has her tanning
bed/clothes/shoes/stuff addiction. It's a fairly even trade. She likes
the fact that I have something to do. She would rather me play D2 than
be out bangin' other chicks late at night. At least she knows I am
home and with her. I usually get home at 11pm anyway. Need a few hours
to wind down after busting ass for 12 hours to keep her addictions
going. So please, lay off.

It only happens if you let it happen. Don't be afraid to break the mould!

Have a cry will ya! First of all, it was a joke.

Second, computers to break up marriages.

Plus try and find a mouse that doesn't use microswitches in its buttons.
Buggered if I know of any that don't. They might exist.

She must have bloody good hearing, can you not move the pc into another room
so you can get a closed door between you?, have you tries opening the mouse
and foam padding the micro switches?

If all else fails get under a blanket!
