Cardbus expansion cards are available nowadays for a variety of connections : FireWire 800 (ieee1394b), Serial ATA, USB 2.0 I would like to know how a PC laptop can really benefit from these in the real world of editing video and audio. What are the specific advantages of FW800 Vs serial ATA in a Cardbus connection, and are they 100 per cent compatible with Windows XP ? My T23 laptop has two USB 1.1 slots and 2 cardbus slots. Since one can't have all in a PC laptop, which two out of three would give me the best possible performance with a DVD writer and an external hard-disk: FW 800 and USB2 ? SATA and USB2 ? FW 800 and SATA ? Not only isn't there yet a FW800+usb2 combo card but also depending on which two cards are used they may not fit physically in side by side PC card slots. Any ideas ? |
