Hey I just installed my new motherboard (Gigabyte GA-8SQ800), and I'm having
trouble setting up Motherboard Monitor Five. For those of you who don't know what it is, Motherboard Monitor is a program which monitors the cpu speed, fan speed, temperature, voltages, and just about every other sensor your motherboard has. It also warns you when those items go "out of range." I'm having a bit of trouble here, though. I can't seem to figure out what some of these sensors do: MAX1617-9 (local) MAX1617-9 (remote) Sis950/ITE8705F-1 << pretty sure this does CPU fan speed/CPU temp Sis950/ITE8705F-2 Sis950/ITE8705F-3 Anyone got any ideas? Oh yeah, by the way, I connected my case's fans to the motherboard's SYS_FAN port, but I wasn't quite sure why (because it was also directly connected to the power supply). Is it supposed to report the fan speed too? For some reason, in the BIOS, I always get a fan speed of 0 RPM. Any ideas? I'm using Antec's 80mm case fan (2 of 'em), which are directly connected to the power supply. The power supply has a cord which fitted in the SYS_FAN port, so I stuck it there. Thanks for any help! -- MiniDisc_2k2 Oh yeah, one last thing: What's VCORE and VCC18? They give out voltages of 1.6V and 1.9V, respectively. And what's a good temperature for a Pentium 4 2.4GHz 533MHz FSB (it's holding steady at 35 C)? |

You need a fan with three wires to detect speed, if it has only two wires it will read 0 RPM. > Thanks for any help! > -- MiniDisc_2k2 > > Oh yeah, one last thing: What's VCORE and VCC18? My Pentium 3 in a well ventilated case runs 35 to 38 deg C depending on CPU usage. -- Mike Walsh West Palm Beach, Florida, U.S.A. |
