New Dell computer came preloaded with Norton Internet Security. Is it worth
the price of a continuing subscription over the AVG antivirus and Zone Alarm firewall that I was using on my old WIN95 machine? Seems I'm seeing a lot more activity by Norton but not sure if that's because Norton's a better program or my old Win95 machine just wasn't as good of a target. |

I've been using Win95 since its inception without a firewall and never had any problems. Like Duane says, it's not a target. Just got a new PC and installed Win2K Pro and ran into all kinds of problems/instrusions. Tried AVG, liked it, bought it ($33 US for 2 years) and tried Kerio 'Personal Firewall' and bought that too ($55 US for licence, for life, includes free updates subscription for 1 year). Beware though Kerio is much more complex to use - but very effective. |

Norton tends to show you EVERYTHING which you don't really want to see as about 99% of stuff is normal. If you want to see EVERYTHING with ZAP you can but it makes using a computer almost impossible as you are having to check alerts every minute or so. -- Morgan R.
