Default Norton Anti virus

On running NAV I have been informed I have a file name Dc1.exe and the
threat is Adware.Ncase. I am advised by NAV to go through the registry
and remove the files it names, when I get to the point of removing the
files, they are not there.

I cannot contact Synantic via e mail to find out what I do.

Any sugestions please.

D/L Lavasoft's Ad-aware 6.0 from http://www.lavasoftusa.com/

You will need to click on the word Ad-aware in the left hand
box on the screen to get to the FREE version.

Also D/L Spybot Search and Destroy 1.2 from
http://www.safer-networking.org/

This is also a free program (Donation ware). You will need
to run the update feature in each program after you install
them.

Why both? One of them may catch spyware/maleware that the
other one doesn't find. Recently a friend found 116 spyware
problems with Ad-aware that Spybot S&D missed. I've seen the
opposite situation too.

Norton is an Antivirus program doesn't offer much in the way
of spyware/maleware/trojan/worm protection.

I still run NAV 2002 on my main PC that I use for E-mail
because it does a pretty good job of scanning incoming
E-mail before it gets D/L from the server. This has saved me
a lot of time during massive E-mail attacks in the past.

I'm currently running F-Prot for Windows on most of my other
machines. It has a good reputation and a very small
footprint plus it uses very few system resources.

You can get almost daily updates and it only costs $29 USD
for a license which allows you to run it on all of your PCs
for non-commercial use.

There is also a free DOS version of F-Prot that I recommend
to people as a backup for other AV programs.
