Default webshield e500

I cant get the webshield e500 to handle outbound smtp traffic (http
fine). inbound is fine, but exchange shows everything queuing up in
ims. I need to get this running as support on mailsweeper is now
defunct. When it was set up, it was made as a transparent bridge, now
surely as i want it to do mail routing i want it to be a transparent
router and change the ip of the e500 to that of the mailsweeper when i
remove it for ease of dns records etc..

Current set up

smtp setup

clients - exchange - mailsweeper - pix - outsideworld

http

clients - proxy - e500 - pix - outside world

all i want to do is replace mailsweeper with e500. The only thing ove
not changed is changing to a transparent router but i'm not sure what
effect this would have. Any advice please?

Although the WebShield Appliance runs as a transparent bridge (i.e.:
effectively invisible to the network) it does still need to have a couple of
things set up on it...

Its been a while, but this sounds like you need to check your inside and
outside domain names are correct and set up correctly and connected to the
apprpriate bit of wire.. You may be finding the mails outbound are being
bounced because you have the mail domains switched or not defined correctly
and the anti-relay is kicking in...
