Default sneaking into favourites

Hi,

does anyone know how to stop web pages install themselves into ones
favourites

Recently porn-type favourites have been installing themselves into
favourites, while simply going from one academics maths web page to the
next.

Is this some kind of virus - it's annoying especially as I use PC only for
serious work

Charles

Install IE-SPYAD, SpywareBlaster and keep them up to date. Also, toughen up
your IE security settings:

I use spybot S&D from www.security.kolla.de, and immunise against known
threats. You also need to turn off the known unsafe features in Internet
Explorer .. a quick Google will reveal several options for hardening
your system.

And quit installing cover disks, clicking on 'yes' when presented with
installation boxes, running Kazaa, and failing to keep up with the
endless stream of MS security fixes. 8>.
