Default wierd mail

I recently replied (reply button) to an e-mail with the form:-
c****ay@pacific.net.sg

and got back:-

This is an automatically generated Delivery Status Notification.

Delivery to the following recipients failed.

c****ay@hotmail.com

Looking at the original mail properties, I found the following:-

References: <BAY1-F13r2UAaTzvb5Y00006265@hotmail.com>

Is there anything suspicious here??

Spam?
The reply address was known to me and I have never had this response before.
How did spammers get my e-mail address from my outgoing mail? and what are
