Hi,
some of the new games are capable of running in OpenGL mode, too. I wonder where I can get those drivers for my card (X800) for WinXP if there are any. BTW: I've installed the OmegaDrivers as they run more stable than the latest CAT. -- cu, Michael |

The Catalysts and Omega drivers have OpenGL drivers built in. Just don't downloads video card drivers from Microsoft. -- Andrew, contact via interpleb.blogspot.com Help make Usenet a better place: English is read downwards, please don't top post. Andrew, I wasn't aware of this ;-) However I do not have a single clue how to enable OpenGL e.g. in games like Unreal 2/Unreal Tournament 2k3-2k4/Tribes Venegeance... The settings dialog in UT2k4 gives me the option to choose between Software or DirectX. Is "Software" meant to be OpenGL? Perhaps you know something more details about this? -- cu, Michael |

In Unreal engined games you can usually enable OpenGL by editing the games config file, e.g. for UT2004 edit <UT directory>/system/ut2004.ini and in the [Engine.Engine] section put a ; in front of the D3D line and take out the ; in front of the OpenGL line. >The settings dialog in UT2k4 gives me the option to choose between Software >or DirectX. Sounds good - I will try this evening. >>Perhaps you know something more details about this? > Perhaps I do :-) Certainly you do ;-) Thanks! -- cu, Michael |

Do you know if the OpenGL or DX9 render paths deliver the same visual
quality as the default Direct3D setting? -- "War is the continuation of politics by other means. It can therefore be said that politics is war without bloodshed while war is politics with bloodshed."
