Default Shut Down Problems

It's driving me crazy, can anyone help??

I've got a 5 month old laptop, and until recently i
wasn't aware that i had the Blaster virus on it.. Since
i've had that, the computer refuses to turn off after
shut down, , it just stops at the "Windows is shutting
down" screen.. Also along with that all applications take
ten times longer to open and and respond when i'm in
them.. I've succesfully managed to eliminate the virus,
but the same problems still exist!!

I'm running Windows XP Pro, and it's doing my head in..

Please, has anyone got any ideas???

Thanks

Default RE: Shut Down Problems

Have you checked for spyware and adware? Are you running an antivirus program? Try running these in safe mode and see what they find.
