Default 9800 Pro and NFSU problem

Anyone else having issues running Need for Speed Underground on a 9800
Pro at anything higher than 800x600? I keep getting just a blank
screen, though I still hear the sounds and music in the background.
Works fine at 800x600. Same happens in Colin McRae 3. Upgraded from
a 8500 and the game ran fine at higher resolutions. Worked fine on a
GeforceFX 5600 Ultra card as well.

Other games and programs I've tried, such as UT2k3, 3dmark2k3 and Max
Payne 2 do run fine at the higher resolutions however. Thanks for any
suggestions!

I have the same problem as you, except I am using a 9700 Pro.
are you using the 3.9 drivers with your video card? I really wish to
get this problem fixed as I am dying to play this game!! (can't stand
to play at such a low res!)

Just installed the latest VGA GART driver for my mb and everything
works fine now. Not sure if I just forgot to install it when I
reinstalled my OS (everything did run fine with my older videocard) or
if I just needed a driver update. I'm also using the latest 3.9
drivers for the card. Good luck!

Good to see that i'm not the only one whit this kind of problems whit the
NFS-Underground game. have a Radeon9200 (ATI/ Hercules card). After i have
installed the original game (Swedish) i just got a "blink" and back to
windows, even tryed to install and run the Demo (English), and this did not
help. Have uninstalled my OS/ upptadet Windows/ Latest drivers for my
mainboard and videocard AND i have tested no-cd cracks on the original/
demo, nothing!. Have no sound or anything.
If there are someone whit a solution out there - please - help.

FYI - 9800 pro and winxp home. NFS:U works fine here at higher resolutions.
I play at 1280*1024.
