Which card to upgrade to ????

Hi

I am currently running an Athlon XP2800 with 512mb DDR memory on an NForce 2
mobo along with a Ge-Force 3 Ti 500 and am thinking of upgrading my graphics
card.
The Ati cards seem to be the best at the moment and I am looking at a
Gigabyte Radeon 9600 Pro 128Mb.
Or is there a better make than Gigabyte that I should be looking at?
Is this card worth the upgrade??
Also I have seen reviews stating the price at £122 but the nearest I can
find is Dabs @ £136 - is there anywhere cheaper???

there are lots of companies offering the same ati chipset on their boards
(sapphire, connect, gigabyte etc). each offer slightly different
specifications and therefore costs. you have to see which one is closest to
your needs. i went for a sapphire because i was limited by cost but i knew
the same chipset on the connect card was quicker at that time.

have you checked out simply.co.uk for prices?

Depends on your priority on price and performance, but it's probably one of
the best price/performance cards out there thats capable of DX9 stuff.

I'd be tempted to go with Sapphire, but I don't think there's a great deal
to choose. There are cards out there with faster memory than others to
allow more overclocking, or silent cooling solutions depending on your
requirements.
