Did I miss a thread here? Who decided February 13th?....

Do we want 'a freeware day'?. What should we do on that day? You must
eleborate more on the idea.. :-)

From a guy who knows it can be hard to get an idea to become reality...
:-) (freeware logo).

OK. But it's not the same. This is for open source only:

Not including 'traditional closed source freeware' (strange term?)

Yup. Some open source advocates seem to go out of their way to take a
swipe at *Freeware*.

Stranger yet - their convoluted explanations of the term "free software"
- free as in freedom etc. etc. Open source is easy to understand -
"free software" that you have to pay for is a bit ridiculous IMO.

anyway. . .

You asked for elaboration on the idea of a Freeware Day - the URL was an
FYI.

May I suggest a "Free File-Manager day", a "Free File-Splitter day, a
"Free Mail-Client day", a "Free "NewsReader day" - and so forth. We do
not have to make any fuzz about establishing such "free...days", all
we need to do is sweettalk Alex Balfour, to have him "insert" our new
"free..days" in his CalMag <http://www.stokepoges.plus.com/>, spread
the word about the program...and sit back and wait and hope our new
"days" will be adopted globally

Seriously though, it would be nice if....

All the best,
Bjorn Simonsen

Great idea Bjorn! The Pricelessware list has 12 categories, that's one
for each month. . . now where's Alex. . .
