I thought I sent this request previously but haven't seen it so I apologize
if this is a repeat. I am looking for a program that can be used to manage a hobby club. Hopefully, it would contain a database for membership and dues collection, scheduling, notes, to-do list, easy entry and editing, etc. and support import and export of data. Built-in standard financial and other reports would be nice. The ability to handle a 500 member club and work with all versions of windows from win98 up is essential. I have not been able to find any good stuff after searching pricelessware, other freeware sites and googling. Even the $ware programs that I was able to find leave much to be desired. Thanks in advance for any ideas, Ray |

Most of those freeware tools are open-source PHP/mysql scripts you can customize on a php/mysql enabled webserver. But often this means getting into PHP/MySQL, or try a single user turnkey solution from one of the CRM software suppliers. Most of the time, those packages of CRM developers are registerware (You have to register your name and e-mail to get to the downloads. Sometimes the trail version is the singel use version, but unless you have thousands of members, such a trail version will not limit you in functionality Just start good old google and type +freeware +crm and hit the Search button. Thanks much for the input. I didn't even think about CRM... duh... No problem with mySQL/PHP and I would really like to have something on the server too. But our current server can't handle it. Maybe the next one will. Ray |

So far I triedCRMadar which sounded great but in actual use isn't very well suited to what I need and took me about 15 tries to download. And parts of the English version are still in non-English text. I'm afraid that CRM s/w may not be able to be modified/configured enough to be good for the job. What I need will be used by a number of people and without specific headers, etc. probably will cause much confusion. Do you have any experience with CRM applications that you might recommend a particular program? Ray |
