Hi, How hot should a 9700 pro run at. I have a temp probe under the cooling
fan right at the center of where the chip is, It's running at 48 deg C in standby, 59 deg C in the desktop and 72 deg C+ in 3D games. Are these temps to high ? Thanks for any reply's.... |

My Tyan 9700pro board is around 50deg C idle and up to 60deg C during
gaming stock coling on it, no overclocking, and it has onboard hardware monitoring |

What is a good alternative cooler for this card ?
I was thinking about using a P2 slot 1 heatsink and fan. It rattles like a bugger... I think it will almost be a relief when it finally falls off... Well for about for about 5 seconds anyway. D0d6y. -- MUSHROOMS ARE THE OPIATE OF THE MOOSES |

ATI based VidCards & I have TWO Hercules 8500s, an AIW 8500DV & an 8500LE FDX. :-((( Luckily, they both work fine so warranty shouldn't be an issue (cross fingers.) & ATI's own drivers seem to work with them both... I agree with your comment, John, but rather than criticising this person, I think it could be important to encourage them to post this as a new thread - if true, it's important that ATi users, particularly those thinking of purchasing cards, should know this. ;-) patrickp > > > Dodgy <Dodgy@earth.planet.universe> wrote in message > > news:<248mivk62k6u9d26agf0igeut6klsd6qec@4ax.com>... > > > On Fri, 01 Aug 2003 20:56:14 GMT, john.dsl@verizon.net (John Lewis) > > > waffled on about something: > > > > > > >On Fri, 01 Aug 2003 05:21:42 GMT, "A Thiel" <athiel@shaw.ca> wrote: > > > > > > > >>Hi, How hot should a 9700 pro run at.
