OT viewing .jpgs on desktop

If im in a folder such as my documents and i hover the curser over a picture
file , i get a preview of it on the left hand side.Is there some type of
programme or reg fix that will allow a "preview" box similar to the ones you
see in folders...only on the desktop?Hope ive explained this correctly.Using
