Diskeeper Lite. ITs "nagware" , i.e when you run it you get a popup
window but you can stop that with Spybot.

ScanDefrag will efficiently run MS or Norton utilities, the
log will list all the running programs and Restrictive Mode
will make every effort to stop the ones that should not be
running. See the ReadMe for more info.

Please elaborate on this aspect of spybot.

I like this one, you can set it up to do a number of essential tasks, start
it and forget it while you go and have a bevvy

Of course it only uses the ME defragger, but it's the time you have to pay
attntion to the computer that counts - I've yet to see one that does more
with less of my valuable effort

Hehehe. I think that was just a tag line, and had nothing to do with SpyBot.
I think the authors of SpyBot are still altruistic, but this could change.

Fast does ot equate to better. On Win2K I use DIRMS and Buzzsaw (Thanx
to someone on this board for suggesting it!), but on my WIn9X system, I
still use the one that comes with WinMS and augment it with SpeeDefrag
(which allows you to reboot and defrag with minimal system fiels
running).

Diskeeper is far too bloated and it is nagged (I know this can EASILY be
fixed by removing the html files). I will not use it.

O&O defrag is also "OKAY" for Win2K.
